This is our draft beer list for 2010 with beer tasting notes to give you a flavour of the beers you don’t yet know.

APA
Dark Star 4.7 Golden
Yeast & Hops imported from the USA. Low colour malt gives light colour & dryness enhances the crisp taste and full aroma of the hops. Camra Best Golden Ale 2009

Best Bitter
Ballards 4.2 Copper
Malty aroma, good balance of fruit and malt flavours with a dry, hoppy after taste.

Beyond the Pale
Elland 4.2 Golden
Robust with aromas of hops and fruit, bitterness predominates. A dry, fruity, hoppy aftertaste.

Blackberry Cascade
Saltaire 4.8 Golden
American style pale ale, hopped with Cascade and Centennial hops. Infused with a hint of Blackberries.

Brewers Gold
Crouch Vale 4 Golden
Camra Supreme Champion 2005/6 Citrus nose, sweet fruit, bitter hops well matched throughout.

Broadside
Adnams 4.7 Ruby
Broadside is a dark ruby red beer rich in fruitcake aromas, almonds and conserved fruit.

Butcombe Blond
Butcombe 4.3 Golden
Cleaning tasting, light and fruity with a medium bitter finish

Cascade Pale Ale
Saltaire 4.8 Golden
American style pale ale with the floral aromas and strong bitterness of Cascade and Centennial hop.

Dark Island
Orkney 4.6 Dark
A ripe fruity aroma with hop notes, rounded in the mouth with a good malt & hop balance.

Eldorado
Bowman 3.5 Golden
A subtle injection of Elder Flowers. There is no heavy floral scent, but more of the tiniest hint of this spring bloom. This beer has plenty of character and a lovely bitter finish.

Espresso Stout
Dark Star 4.2 Dark
Made with freshly ground espresso coffee beans with a rich coffee taste and aroma

Explorer
Adnams 4.3 Golden
Uses American hops giving citrus taste and has a long sweet aftertaste. Silver medal at GBBF 2009 in the blonde beer category. Second in Camra Golden Ale category 2009

Classic Sussex style chestnut bronze coloured bitter based on King & Barnes Festive

Golden Best (Light Mild)
Timothy Taylor 3.5 Amber
The last of the true Pennine light milds, this amber coloured beer makes a refreshing session ale

Hammer Mild
Surrey Hills 3.8 Dark
A traditional dark mild with a wonderful malt base and feel in the mouth. Delicate hop characters complement the malt flavour

Hip Hop
Langham 4
Popular local beer, clean & crisp, floral hoppy aroma. The pale malt flavour is overtaken by a dry bitter finish.

Hop Head
Dark Star 3.8 Golden
The very popular Sussex beer. A fruity/hoppy aroma and a citrus/bitter taste & after taste..

Jacko’s Jollop
RAJF/Langham 3.9 Golden
Originally brewed in 2009 especially for the RAJF it proved very popular. This year we’ve renamed the beer in memory of Roger Jackson – our popular custodian of the Ales for many years.

Jaipur IPA
Thornbridge 5.9 Amber
A citrus dominated India Pale Ale, its immediate impression is soft and smooth yet builds to a crescendo of massive hoppiness accentuated by honey. An enduring, bitter finish

Langham Best
Langham Amber
A classic best beer with well-balanced malt flavours and bitterness.

Quadhop
Downton 3.9
Downtons most popular session bitter. Four varieties of hops provide a full range of floral and citrus aromas, and a moreish bitterness that drinks superbly down the glass.

30th Anniversay Ale
Ballards 4.0 Golden
A new pale hoppy beer with a long bitter aftertaste. Brewed at Ballards initially by some local Camra members & members of our Beer Team for this year’s anniversaries of Yapton Beerex, RAJF & Ballards.

Ranmore Ale
Surrey Hills 3.8 Golden
A session beer that has a surprisingly full flavour for its strength. A pleasant and distinctive aroma is followed by a moderate hop bitterness with a fresh finish. Best Camra Bitter 2009.

Raspberry Blond
Saltaire 4 Golden
Refreshing blonde ale delicately infused with raspberry flavours.

Shere Drop
Surrey Hills 4.2
With a subtle hint of grapefruit and lemon in the aroma. The wonderful hop bitterness is complemented by a balanced malt flavour.It has a long finish, which is moderately dry.

Six Hop Ale
Dark Star 6.5 Amber
Brewed with 5 different hops then dry hopped with a sixth for those that like extreme hop tastes.

Summer Lighting
Hop Back 5.0 Golden
Over the years various awards a favourite at the RAJF

Summer Meltdown
Dark Star 4.8 Golden
Well Balanced Golden Beer with Chinese stem ginger. Thirst quencher for summer evenings.

Sussex Extra Stout
Dark Star 4.5 Dark
A dryness to provide balance with full malt flavours and a fresh clean bitterness.

True Grit
Millstone 5.0 Golden
A very pale and hoppy strong ale. Well hopped using only Chinnook hop; the mellow bitters make way for a distinctive citrus/grapefruit aroma.

Victorian Ruby Mild
Dark Star 6.0 Dark
A less well known mild tradition of strength with soft flavours, malt & gentle hops blended with aged dark beer for a complexity of flavour.

Wallops Wood
Bowman 4.0 Brown
Well crafted, balanced malty favours with a slightly dry finish

Wild Swan Pale Ale
Thornbridge 3.5 Golden
With aromas of light bitter lemon, a hint of herb and a subtle spiciness. A great session beer!
